As a general starting point, I like to start out meeting weekly so that we can build a strong foundation for trust and safety to develop. From there we’ll establish a schedule that matches the treatment you’re needing and feels right to you.
Individual therapy provides the time & space to develop an understanding of the internal roots of the issues you struggle with. As the client, you get to set the pace & direction that we go, while I help you gain clarity by noticing patterns & cycles that will offer you language to better understand and articulate you’re needing & experiencing. Ultimately, our work together will help you develop perspective, increase sense of self worth, and build confidence in your ability to elicit change.

Maternal mental health counseling is specific and personalized therapy for each client due to the unique nature of this experience.
Like individual therapy, this is one on one time we spend together focused on what you are needing. That can be a variety of things from emotional regulation & processing, to concrete strategies for getting support, or finding community or access to resources. Sometimes you don’t even know what you need and that can be where we start.
Motherhood is a massive & ongoing transition that impacts all areas of your life. All aspects of motherhood from infertility, loss, birth trauma, & birth success - can disrupt your relationships and how you see yourself. Such a life altering transition isn’t something you should have to navigate alone. Therapy during this time can offer you the support & connection that you need.

Group therapy offers unique emotional support that we can’t experience in individual therapy. Groups can create an emotionally safe environment that offer new relational experiences of being seen and heard. When you’ve endured relational trauma or attachment injury, new reparative experiences with others can make a huge difference in your recovery and healing. In a group, you learn about your relational patterns, gain different perspectives on similar issues, and develop a sense of belonging.
Depending on group type (process, support, or psychoeducation), groups meet weekly and can be ongoing or last between 6-10ish weeks.
New groups starting in April 2025. If you’re interested in joining one, check out our current list and submit your interest here!

THE THERAPY PROCESS
Therapy is collaborative process, meaning it’s a relationship that requires participation from both the client and therapist. Ultimately, this therapeutic relationship needs to feel like a safe and trusting space to allow you to feel comfortable opening up. Understandably, this kind of trust & safety takes time & consistency to build. The safer you feel over time, the more we’ll be able to learn about your patterns and understand your needs, fears, desires, and so on. This can be a delicate process and is unique to each client.
While every client’s treatment is unique, I approach the therapeutic process from an attachment-based and trauma-sensitive lens. That means, as I’m getting to know you, I conceptualize your story around the early attachment patterns that sneak into your adult relationships unconsciously. Identifying and understanding why or how these patterns developed, can be the catalyst for making changes that last.
I also use Internal Family Systems (IFS), or “parts work”, to help piece together those moments where you find yourself understanding something clearly in your mind, but “it doesn’t feel that way” in your body. Using parts work allows us to give language and understanding to seemingly contradicting feelings in a way that lessens the shame you may carry about the patterns & cycles you’re caught in.
Other modalities that I integrate into therapy are Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and Somatic Therapy.
